As of Fall 2005 the New Charlotte Arena became the home of the NBA's Charlotte Bobcats, WNBA’s Charlotte Sting and ECHL's Charlotte Checkers.  It is also host to entertainment from professional and college sporting competitions to concerts and family events such as Champions on Ice.  The state-of-the-art facility is located in the heart of Center City Charlotte, N.C., convenient to both Uptown residents and travelers from three interstates and within walking distance to more than 4,000 hotel rooms and close to 150 restaurants.
