Gaston County MuseumGaston County Museum Average User Rating: (0 votes, add your vote or comments) The Gaston County Museum contains over 5,000 objects, 20,000 documents, and over 400,000 photos which span the period from the 1500s through the 20th Century. The permanent Carolinas Textile Exhibit presents the history of the people and the businesses that created the economic engine of the 20th Century for the region. Twelve horse-drawn sleighs and carriages are on exhibit in the permanent collection of the Stowe Carriage House. Visit the 1852 Hoffman Hotel where pioneer policians, judges, lawyers, businessman, and farmers stayed while attending county court. Directions: Located near I-85, the Gaston County Museum can be reached either off of Exit 20 (New Hope Road off of I-85) or off of Highway 321 (Dallas Exit), which is Exit 17 on I-85.
