Historic Rural Hill Farm is a 265 acre remnant of one of the most prosperous plantations in the piedmont Carolinas.  The historical preserve features magnificent rural vistas and offers special events, walking trails, self guided tours and,  with reservations, wagon rides and guided tours featuring plantation home ruins, smoke house, ash house, granary, the original one-room 1890's  school house, the 20th century farm house, and the Rural Hill Burying Ground.

The Davidson family lived at Rural Hill for more than 230 years. Stories about the family and their kith and kin provide a window into the community of the Scots and their contrary cousins, the Scots-Irish. See how genealogy and archaeology work together to unravel the mystery of history and learn more about the people who put a unique cultural stamp on the American South.

The battle reenactment of Cowan's Ford takes place every February at Historic Rural Hill Farm to commemorate the patriotism and sacrifice of American soldiers. For more information contact: www.ruralhillfarm.org or call 704-875-3113.
